Valldemossa Mallorca

Valldemossa - Mallorca

The Valldemossa monastery has attracted many people from all over the world including Chopin and his companion, George Sand (female) and it is one of the principal attractions of the municipality. The origin of the buildings date from the time of King James II of Mallorca, who chose this lovely place in the Tramuntana mountain range, to build a palace for his son Sanç, known as the Palau del rei Sanç. In 1399 King Martín el Humano ceded all the royal possessions in Valldemossa to the Carthusian monks.
There is also the famous Hotel de Valldemossa which is a fantastic and luxurious place to stay.
